Ayodhya on Friday demanded the government bring legislation in Parliament for the purpose, saying the issue has been dragging in courts without any resolution.
The body of sants decided to wait till the winter session of Parliament for the government to deliver on legislation to build the temple and take a call on future action on January 31, 2019, during the ‘Dharms Sansad’ to be held in Allahabad. At the meeting, the committee headed by Mahant Nritya Gopal Das who is the acting chief of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, passed a resolution, demanding legislation to pave the way for construction of a temple at the site.
After the meeting, the seers met President Ram Nath Kovind and submitted a copy of the resolution to him, seeking his intervention.
