Toyota Recalls 2.4 Million Prius Hybrids Worldwide That Could Stall While Driving

Toyota is recalling 2.4 million prius’ around the world… saying they could stall while driving.??????In the US alone, Toyota says the recall affects a little over 800,000 cars, covering some Prius models from 2010 to 2014 and Prius V hybrids from 2012 to 2014.????Toyota said in a statement that in “rare situations” the car could lose power and stall as it enters a fail safe driving mode, which could cause a crash if it occurs while the vehicle is moving at higher speeds.??????The issue stems from the vehicles’ software.

????Toyota did not indicate if any crashes, injuries or deaths have been linked to this specific problem.??????USA Today reports dealers will apply a software to the vehicle for free and customers will be notified when they can have repairs done.????The company issued similar recalls in 2014 and 2015 to address similar issues with the fail safe procedure, however they say they did not anticipate this new problem.
