Kerala rain: Five NDRF teams sent to neighbouring state from TN

CHENNAI: The regional training centre of the 04th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu has sent five teams to different parts of Kerala following the forecast of heavy rain there.
Five teams, each comprising 25 members, headed by officers in the rank of inspectors, were sent to Kerala on Wednesday. They would be stationed at Kozhikode, Wayanad, Pathanamthitta, Palakkad and Idukki districts, according to officials in NDRF.

The teams are equipped with fibre boats and modernised equipment to carry out evacuation and rescue operation.

The personnel attached to the battalion had rescued several people during the recent floods in Kerala.
