A woman sustained injuries after a paraglider crashed from a height of around 10 metres at a resort near Panchgaon here on Monday, the police said on Wednesday.
No licence
A case has been registered against the adventure sports company for conducting the flights without requisite licence and permission. Madhumita Singh, a guest at Best Western Resort Country Club, was injured around noon on Monday when the paraglider crashed. She was taken to a hospital in Manesar and later discharged. The matter came to light when the police received information from the hospital regarding the accident. Ms. Singh, a resident of Gurugram Sector 69, refused to lodge a complaint, the police said.
A case was later registered against adventure sports company Mamba Aviation’s chief executive officer Amit Yadav and Kuldeep, who flies the paragliders, after the police found that the company did not have requisite permission. The two men have been booked on charges of negligent conduct with respect to machinery and causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others under the Indian Penal Code.
The FIR stated that Mamba Aviation had entered into an agreement with the resort management on September 11 for conducting adventure sports at its cricket ground but held the flight of paraglider on Monday in violation of the agreement. The company did not have a licence for flying paragliders, said the police.
A copy of the FIR has also been sent to the Civil Aviation Department. When contacted, Mr. Yadav told The Hindu that his relative Pamit is the CEO of the company and not him. “We had an agreement with the resort management in 2017 but this year we have no such agreement. I am not aware of any case registered against me,” he said. Mr. Pamit claimed he was in Jaisalmer on business and had no information about the FIR.
