New Delhi: BJP chief Amit Shah has appointed Union ministers JP Nadda, Prakash Javadekar and Dharmendra Pradhan as incharge of the poll campaign in Telangana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, respectively.

The three ministers have handled Assembly election campaigns for the BJP in the past and Shah is banking on their experience to give an impetus to the party campaign in these states.

Health minister Nadda is a close confidant of both PM and Shah. He will be in charge of the BJP campaign in Telangana where the saffron party is pitted against TRS and Congress. Though BJP is the weakest of the three parties, the ground covered in the Assembly elections may help it in the Lok Sabha elections next year.

HRD minister Prakash Javadekar was election campaign incharge of Karnataka in the Assembly polls just a few months ago. He has now been given charge of Rajasthan where BJP is facing strong anti-incumbency.

BJP chief Amit Shah is reportedly paying special attention to this state and Javadekar is expected to play an important role.

Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be election incharge of MP, He has earlier handled Bihar and Karnataka. A divided Congress and BSP chief Mayawati’s decision to go it alone has given a boost to the BJP in the state.

BJP has also distributed responsibility of dealing with the media to various party spokespersons and panellists. Sudhanshu Trivedi will be stationed in Rajasthan during the campaign while Sambhit Patra will be in Madhya Pradesh. BS Shastri and Sanjay Mayukh have been given the responsibility of Chhattisgarh.
