Druva expands innovation & product devpt centre

PUNE: Pharmaceutical and healthcare industries are leading in cloud technology absorption while finance sector is slowly catching up to absorb these technologies, said Jaspreet Singh, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Druva, a leader in cloud data protection and management solutions. Jaspreet was interacting with reporters in the city at the launch of its new innovation and product development centre here. The centre will currently accommodate 500 employees and is planning to reach a strength of 1,000 soon. 

The company, which has over a decade of presence, also provides services of data intelligence, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data governance and data protection. 

“The company is catering to 4,000 customers, of which 72 per cent are in the USA and 18 per cent are in Europe and Asia Pacific region. In India, we have about 300 customers,” added Jaspreet. Speaking about the new centre, Milind Borate, Chief Technological Officer at Druva, said that about 350 employees will be part of the research and development wing while another 120 will focus on customer services. “We are looking for resources with cloud computing skills blended with machine learning and artificial intelligence,” added Jaspreet.

Speaking on the growth of business, Mahesh Patel, Chief Financial Officer at Druva, said that the business is growing by about 60 per cent. “Our scalability and our business model is what distinguishes us,” added Patel. Speaking on the data security aspect on cloud, Borate said that Druva works with Amazon web services (AWS). “While AWS has its own security parameters, we implement data security at technology as well as operational level. We also follow all security certifications and government mandates,” added Borate.

Adding to this, Jaspreet said that the company works continuously to check for vulnerabilities. “However, we are confident that we can handle the data security part,” added Jaspreet.
