THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State police will repatriate the family of Rohingya refugees that had reached the state capital, to Hyderabad on Thursday.

The five-member family, comprising two men, two children and a woman, had reached Vizhinjam on Monday.

They had come from Hyderabad, and they had refugee cards issued by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) with them and that they reached the state capital from Hyderabad by train. They have told the local police that they faced some problems at Hyderabad forcing them to leave for a safer place.

"We have decided to send them back to Hyderabad as they do not have the permission to move out, though they have the UNHCR registration cards," sources in police department said.

Last week, a communique by principal chief security officer of railways in Chennai to all the officers said that a large number of Rohingya refugees have been to south, especially Kerala and the trains have to be put under watch. The communique was also sent to central and state intelligence agencies.
