LUDHIANA: The civic officials have served another notice to the management of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Tagore Nagar for illegally clubbing the residential plots into hospital for utilizing it commercially. The officials have also conducted a survey in the hospital premises through which they came to know about the facts that hospital authorities did not reply to previous notice and they have illegally clubbed around 1,000 square yards of land in the hospital without taking change of land usage from the municipal corporation.
The officials also found out that hospital is utilizing the land for parking and other purposes which is against building bylaws. Moreover there is one laboratory opened by
DMC authorities. The management of hospital did not take permission even for this laboratory which is against illegal. The building branch officials while issuing the notice have warned the officials for curbing illegal use of this land otherwise next time civic body will take action against the hospital without giving any further notice.
While confirming the move the assistant town planner of zone D Vijay Kumar said they had issued first notice on September 25 after receiving complaint from RTI activist Rohit Sabharwal. He said they had given three days to the hospital to stop all activities and submit reply with them in given time but when hospital authorities did not respond to the notice they conducted a survey in the premises. Kumar added that now final notice has been issued to the hospital authorities after which there will be action against hospital.
