Surat: A class X student was allegedly raped by a 24-year-old man at his house sometime after Tuesday midnight.
Accused Sagar Deshmukh, who works as a laboratory technician in a private hospital, had called the girl to meet him at his house. Both live in the same residential society on Bhatar Road. Police said the girl left her house after Wednesday midnight when her family members were asleep.
However, her parents spotted both of them in the morning. Families of the man and the girl decided to meet and discuss about their relationship in Piplod on Wednesday night. However, the girl’s family members thrashed Deshmukh there.
Later, Deshmukh was brought to Umra police station and on verifying the facts, the girl’s family was sent to Khatodara police station. Her father lodged the complaint in Khatodara police station after which Deshmukh was arrested. Police will produce him in the court on Friday.
Police suspect that Deshmukh and the girl were friends and they met often. Deshmukh’s family was sleeping on first floor and no one was present on ground floor where he allegedly raped the girl.
