Surat to host 36 matches of Vinoo Mankad Trophy from today

Surat: Surat District Cricket Association (SDCA) will play host to Vinoo Mankad Trophy (Under-19) Elite A Group, 36 matches of which will be played here from October 5 to 24. This is first time that these matches of Board of Control for Cricket in India will be played in Surat under the direct guidance of Gujarat Cricket Association.
Elite A Group teams belonging to Gujarat, Mumbai, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand and Karnataka will be playing 50 over a side matches of Vinoo Mankad Trophy tournament at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Pithawala Stadium and Kholwad Ground in Surat district.

National selectors will remain present during the tournament. Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, will be playing at the stadium from Mumbai team. Under-19 India captain Pavan Shah along with Ohm Bhosle and Athrva Kale is representing Maharashtra.

Siddharth Desai current under-19 India player will play for Gujarat. Local boy Lax Kochar is also playing for Gujarat. Entry to all the three grounds is free.
