CUTTACK: One more patient died while undergoing treatment in the dengue ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Biranchi Mehena (42), a resident of Nuapatna village in Narasinghpur block of Cuttack district. Mehena was admitted to SCB on September 27 in critical condition. As his condition deteriorated he was shifted to the ICU. "The patient's vital organs, kidney and liver were affected due to the disease and he succumbed on Wednesday," said a senior doctor of SCB.
Notably, this is the sixth dengue death reported from SCB this season. As of Wednesday, at least 96 patients have been undergoing treatment in the dengue ward while 11 others were admitted in the ICU.
