Pune: The opposition political parties demanded calling a special General Body (GB) meeting on the issue of LED project and 24x7 water supply project data corrupt issues.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress Party leaders in the corporation have given an open challenge to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to call a special GB meeting to discuss the corruption charges.

On Wednesday, Chetan Tupe, Opposition leader of NCP, during a press conference, said, “The BJP admitted that there is corruption in LED project and 24x7 water supply data issue. But, they are saying that it happened during Nationalist Congress Party’s tenure.”

“Hence, we are appealing to them to call a special GB meeting in which we will prove corruption happened in BJP regime,” he added.

Arvind Shinde, party leader of Congress in the PMC, said, “The BJP is diverting the attention from corruption issues. It is claiming that corruption happened during NCP and Congress tenure.”

“We want to clear the doubt by calling a special GB meeting. We will produce evidence of corruption in the meeting,” the Congress leader said.
