The popular land dispute in Bikaner of Rajasthan involving Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra is once again in the headlines. While investigating the case involving Mahajan Field Firing Range (MFFR) land, the Enforcement Directorate has again seized properties, worth Rs 65 lakh this time, of around a dozen buyers and Dauphin Developers.
In the past, ED had seized the properties of the main accused Jaiprakash Bangadwa. Now, the team has also seized the properties of main broker of Vadra land dispute.
Around ten years ago, the displaced people from MFFR land were allotted land in Gajner and Kolayat. But, the then officials did not allot the land to the right people. The corruption led to the same land being purchased by Vadra’s companies at cheap prices.
Due to the case being high-profile, the investigation was given to the ED. After that, 18 FIRs were registered in Bikaner’s Gajner and Kolayat regarding the matter and many accused were also arrested. ED is constantly carrying out raids and with elections around the corner, the BJP is also looking to target the Congress in the matter.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that Robert Vadra did not have the fear of law. But, law is same for all in the country and it is a good sign that actions are being taken against him.
