Nalgonda district was the inspiration for the TRS government to launch many one-of-a-kind welfare programmes in the State, its leaders said here on Wednesday.

Be it the crippling fluorosis affecting about two lakh people or the prevalent drought conditions, and the fate of poor women and girls in Devarakonda division, schemes like Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Kalyana Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubarak, KCR Kits and others, many programmes were born out of issues from here, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said. But the Congress party, whose State political leadership is from Nalgonda, in the past several terms of their governance have done nothing to its people, he alleged.

He was speaking to presspersons here, ahead of the TRS party’s Praja Ashirvada Sabha scheduled for Thursday.

The massive public meeting would be attended by no less than three lakh supporters, fans and people from the 12 Assembly constituencies of Nalgonda, he said.

Another MLC Karne Prabhakar, who termed the Congress as ‘Scamgress’, also alleged that the leaders confidence of winning the upcoming elections was in money power, “that was accumulated illegally for forty-two years”.

Further, he argued that unemployment in Telanagana was because of the Congress party, and claimed that the TRS had provided one lakh jobs, “contrasting to their 24,000 jobs.”

Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy, terming the poll alliance between the Congress and Telugu Desam Party as “unholy”, opined it would not yield any positive results.

Chairman of the Rythu Samanvaya Samithi, Mr. Sukender Reddy asked farmers to turn up in large numbers, for the Thursday meeting.
