An eatery shop owner was robbed and shot at by two unknown masked attackers who escaped with Rs 50 thousand cash in south Delhi, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Monday night when the victim identified as Mohammad Faiyaz had gone at a non-vegetarian eatery shop to help his cousin, Mohammad Ahsad who is also a co-owner of the shop located in Ghitorni area, police said.
"Ahsad has said in his statement that a attacker wearing white shirt and a pollution mask came at the eatery shop while he was counting the cash. He threatened me and my cousin to hand the entire cash while pointing the gun on my head. When I refused to give him money, he fired one bullet which hit the shoulder of Faiyaz," the FIR said.
"The accused took the entire cash and escaped with his accomplice who was waiting for him on a bike," it said.
"Faiyaz is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Trauma centre," a senior police officer said, adding that the incident was captured in a CCTV footage, and that efforts are on to nab the culprits.
