Tamil Nadu: Two tourists found alive after 48 hours of accident that killed 5

Two out of seven tourists from Chennai were found alive after 48 hours of the accident without food and water and survived with 5 dead bodies. Their vehicle plunged 50-60 feet into a gorge after crashing through a roadside steel barricade. The accident happened on Ooty-Kalhatty ghat road. The group had checked into a hotel in Ooty on September 30 and had left for Masinagudi on October 1. When they did not return hotel staff alerted the police. Nilgiris SP D Shanmuga Priya said the two survivors were unable to move as they were unable to move as they were pinned down by two bodies. She also said that its a miracle they survived for nearly three days.
