‘Traffic marshals’ to be deployed in District Khanna

LUDHIANA: Seeking to check traffic problems, Khanna police have created a social wing ‘Traffic Marshals Police District Khanna’ for the purpose.

Giving details, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Khanna, Dhruv Dahiya said to curb traffic problems in the city, they have created a special social wing named ‘Traffic Marshals Police Distt Khanna’. He added that the wing included the employees of various departments, students, Lok Sewa Club Khanna, New Age Club Khanna, Arciyk Association Khanna and journalists.

Police said the dress code of the traffic marshals will be white shirt, black pant and special red-taped arm-band. It added that special identity cards will be given to them.

“Traffic marshals will help the traffic wing to solve the traffic problems and motivate people to obey traffic rules. They will also perform duties during Nagar-Kirtan, rallies, road-programs and religious functions in the Khanna City,” said SSP.

Police said they have created a special traffic software, which helps them to control the traffic easily and keep vehicles’ records— vehicle number and photo of driver. It added that Lok Sewa Club Khanna is distributing the pamphlets about the new special social wing.
