Kavanaugh Make-or-Break Senate Test Vote Is Set Up for Friday

(Bloomberg) -- Senate Republicans started the clock for a make-or-break test vote Friday on Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination, putting pressure on undecided GOP members to make up their minds.

The move by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell means that if the procedural vote succeeds on Friday, Kavanaugh could be confirmed this weekend to the nation’s highest court.

McConnell said that the Senate "would receive the results" of the FBI’s inquiry into sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh on Wednesday night.

"All Senators will be able to review the report over the next couple of days," McConnell’s office said in a statement.
