Ahmedabad: Man duped of Rs 3.18 crore by five builders

A complaint of cheating was lodged with the Navrangpura police station on Tuesday by a 62-year-old victim, after he was duped of Rs 3.18 crore by five builders.

The complaint was lodged by Daya Parmar, a resident of Ambawadi area. He stated in his complaint that in 2011, he had invested Rs 3.18 crore in the Harikrishan Infrastructure and Harikrishan Enterprise construction company which was owned by five partners identified as Ritesh Kotak, Ramesh Thakkar, Gansham Thakkar, Gansham Patel and Dhola Patel.

During the deal, the builders had promised him 35 flats from the scheme which they were going to construct for the investment he had made in the scheme. Legal documents and other papers of the 35 flats' was given to Parmar by the five.

After the construction of one of the schemes was completed, the five accused sold 10 of the flats which were in Parmar's name to someone else, while the scheme with the remaining 25 flats was not even completed.

Regarding the matter, a complaint was lodged with the Navrangpura police station by the victim against the five accused and further investigation is on.

Inspector Abhijeet Parmar of Navrangpura police station, said, "Right now, we have taken the complaint and further investigation regarding the matter is on. All of the five people against whom the complaint was lodged are absconding."
