Don't be overconfident for 2019 polls: Yogi Adityanath to BJP

GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday cautioned the BJP leaders and workers against becoming overconfident for 2019 Lok Sabha elections and asked them to work diligently to ensure party's return to power at the Centre next year.

Speaking at the BJP executive council meeting of five parliamentary seats of Gorakhpur zone here, Yogi exhorted party workers to work on the formula of 'Apna booth sabse mazboot'(our booth is the strongest).

"Election commission has found that names of 52 lakh people are not in the voter's list. It is our responsibility to identify these people and ensure are they get enlisted in the voter's list," the CM said.

Lauding the programmes of his government, the CM said now the benefits of government welfare scheme are being provided to people on the basis of poverty and not on the basis of religion and caste.

BJP state general secretary (organization) Sunil Bansal threw light on the party's plan for 2019 elections and asked the members to get into poll mode. UP minister Surya Pratap Shahi, BJP general secretary Pankaj Singh, zonal president Dharmendra Singh were also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, CM Yogi also attended centenary function of district bar association.
