Bengal prisoner opens fire, escapes from court premises after injuring two cops

Karan Bera, accused of killing a policeman in Mahishadal area, was being taken to the Kanthi court in East Midnapore, when he ran away after firing gun shots at the cops. Approximately at 11:30 am, Bera took out a pistol and shot GRO Sushanta Rana and hurled bombs at the other policemen present at the scene. He fled from police custody with the help of two other accomplices, who were waiting for him on a bike. Fortunately, the cops were able to nab the trio within two hours of the incident.
