Goa: Man held with drugs worth Rs 1.3 lakh

PANAJI: A native of Gujarat was nabbed with narcotic drugs worth Rs 1,30,000 at Calangute in the early hours of Thursday.

Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi said they received a tip-off that a native of Vadodara, Gujarat, would be coming to deliver drugs to a customer near the St. Anthony's chapel in Gauravaddo, following which a police team led by PI Dalvi in plain clothes kept a watch at the spot.

Patel was rounded up after he arrived at the spot at around 1am on Thursday. A personal search was conducted and he was found in possession of charas worth Rs 1,00,000 and cocaine worth Rs 30,000.

Calangute police have registered an offence under sections 20 (b) (ii) (A) and 21 (a)of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is in progress.
