Jet Airways inducts 5th Boeing 737 Max, to add six more by March 2019

Cash-strapped private airline Jet Airways Wednesday said it has inducted its 5th Boeing 737 Max plane in its fleet and plans to take deliveries of another six by March next year.

Jet Airways, which is the first domestic operator of the single-aisle aircraft from the US plane maker Boeing, had taken delivery of the first 737 Max in June.

Airline chief executive Vinay Dube had in an analyst call in August said that Jet Airways was on course to take deliveries of 11 planes this fiscal.

The latest MAX, the airlines fifth, with registration VT-JXE is part of 11 MAX aircraft that Jet Airways will be inducting this fiscal year, the airline said in a statement.
