Two men in their late 30s were found murdered near a river in Zu-3 sector of Greater Noida, police said on Tuesday. According to police, the deceased were identified as Balbeer and Mahesh, both natives of Dabra village in Dadri. Police said that they were murdered on Monday night while the information was conveyed to them on Tuesday morning by a local person who spotted them.

“We received a PCR on Tuesday morning informing that the bodies of two men are lying here. A team from Dadri police station reached the spot and took bodies into custody. The faces of the victims were crushed with a heavy object in order to hide the identity” said Vineet Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police (rural). The officer further said that both the persons were killed by some persons of their neighbouring village on Monday night after an altercation broke out between them while they were having drinks at a Dhaba.

“Upon Probing the matter, it came to light that the duo of deceased men had drinks with some persons of their neighbouring village, Raipur, and we suspect that a dispute might have broken out between them following which they were murdered. Meanwhile, we have detained two suspects for questioning” added Jaiswal.

The officer further said that deceased Babbal had a fight with the accused persons a few days ago. Police are conducted raids at suspected hideouts to nab the accused persons.

Family members of deceased staged a protest by putting the dead body on road at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida on Tuesday. They allege that police is trying to save the culprits. However, they were pacified after senior cops assured them to quick and fair probe.
