Kerala government will not file review petition in the Supreme Court against the lifting of ban on women pilgrims entering the Sabarimala temple, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.

“The government will go by the Supreme Court order as it can go only by rules. We have to execute the order. The government will not file review petition,” Mr. Vijayan said after the Cabinet meeting.

The government will take all steps to create facilities for women pilgrims at Nilackal base camp and in the hill shrine, he said, adding that women police personnel will be deployed, and if needed women police personnel from other States will also be roped in to provide protection to women pilgrims.
