Members of Gandhi Museum welcomed the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the Father of the Nation here on Tuesday with a host of events.
Former Member of Parliament E. M. Sudarsana Natchiappan garlanded the statue. Freedom fighters, teachers and students of schools and colleges and representatives of non-governmental organisations paid their respects. A total of 1,500 college students took out a rally.
Justice Pushpa Satyanarayana, Madras High Court, inaugurated a special stamp collection displayed at the museum.
Collector S. Natarajan released a digital kit on the life of Gandhi.
Justice T.Raja garlanded the statue of Gandhi on Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court premises. The sitting judges participated in the event.
