Man arrested for molesting foreigner

T’puram: Kazhakkoottam cyber city police have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a foreigner on road.
The police identified the accused as Anu (26), a daily wage worker hailing from Ambedkarpuram near Manvila.

According to police, the incident related to the case took place around 3pm on Sunday near Kerala University Kariavattom Campus.

The complainant, hailing from South Africa, is pursuing a one-year advanced course at the University here. The accused molested her while she was walking along the road, approaching her from behind on his motorcycle. However, the woman did not lose the presence of mind and managed to note down the registration number of his motorcycle and shared it with the police. This helped the cops to track him down and arrest him easily.

After he was taken into custody, the complainant identified him, following which his arrest was recorded. He was slapped with section 354A of IPC that pertains to outraging the modesty of a woman.

After the arrest, the accused admitted before the police that he had molested two techies on separate occasions at Thrippadapuram Road and Kallingal Road in the past.
