Nagpur: In a first of its kind case, twelve teachers of a Jaripatka-based school have been slapped with atrocity charges for allegedly harassing two employees over caste. Jaripatka police have registered an offence under Prevention of Atrocities Act against the 12 teachers following directions of court.
Dinesh Ingle, 46, used to work at the school as a clerk while Prakash Walde, 47, used to work as a guard in the school. In September 2017, the schoolteachers allegedly started harassing the duo and abusing them over their castes. “All the accused belonged to upper caste. They used to abuse us,” they said in their complaint.

The duo decided to approach the school administration over the alleged harassment. A committee was also formed which investigated into the matter and gave the judgement in the duo’s favour.

However, as no action was taken against the accused teachers, Ingle and Walde approached Jaripatka police. The cops too allegedly tried to cover up the issue.

Finally, the duo approached court, which directed Jairpatka police to register an offence against the accused.
