Four held with demonetized notes worth over Rs 3 crore

VADODARA/ANAND: The rapid response cell of Ahmedabad range police arrested four persons in Anand town with demonetized notes of Rs 3.7 crore face value on Wednesday.
The RR cell sleuths were patrolling in Anand when they found four persons moving around on two two-wheelers in a suspicious manner. The cops intercepted them and checked the huge bags they were carrying. Police found 265 wads of Rs 1,000 denomination and 210 wads of Rs 500 denomination that were demonetized in 2016

Police arrested the four identified as Vishnu Patel, Wasim Khan Pathan, Amjad Khan Pathan, all residents of Anand, and Ashokkumar Patel, who lives in Lunawada in Mahisagar district.

The income-tax department was also informed the seizure. RR cell is probing about the source of the currency and where were these four persons taking them and for what purpose.
