Prohibitory orders clamped in Jharkhand village

Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC has been promulgated in and around village in Jharkhand's district, after tension prevailed between members of two groups over organising a function on Wednesday, police said.

The district administration deployed adequate police force to maintain law and order, they said.

of Palamau, Shantanu Kumar Agrahari, said that the incident was a fallout over encroachment of land between the two groups.

Agrahari said police was also pressed into action to identify miscreants responsible for bursting crackers on the spot.

Bursting firecrackers had triggered the tension, a said.

The DC said a meeting has been convened involving members from both the groups to sort out the problem and restore peace in the area.
