Cong. all set to uproot TRS, claims Uttam

In an interesting development a few local body representatives in Gajwel constituency, represented by caretaker Chief Minister K. ChandrasekHar Rao, joined the Congress party on Wednesday.

Those who joined included Jagdevpur MPP Renuka, MPTCs Mamata Bhanu and Kavitha Yadigiri, former sarpanches Ellaiah and Vijaya, councillors Bhagya Laxmi and Durga Prasad. Jagdevpur is the place where Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s farmhouse is located.

Hundreds of TRS activists from Dubbak constituency of Siddipet district, led by Nageshwara Reddy, also joined the party at Gandhi Bhavan.

Farmer suicides

Welcoming them into the party fold, TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress wave was all set to uproot the TRS from Telangana and Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao would not be able to retain his Gajwel seat in next elections.

He alleged that KCR has committed so many sins against the people that his party deserves to be punished with a humiliating defeat in the next elections.

He said of more than 4,500 farmers who committed suicide in Telangana, almost 480 farmers belonged to Gajwel constituency. None of their kin have been paid compensation of ₹ 6 lakh each as per GO 421. “While KCR had time to relax at his farmhouse in Jagdevpur, he never bothered to meet even one family of farmer who committed suicide,” he said.

Mr. Reddy assured once again that if voted to power, the Congress would waive crop loans up to ₹ 2 lakh in a single take.

It will introduce a comprehensive crop insurance policy wherein the premium would be paid by the State government. He said priority would also be given to housing by constructing two lakh houses for the poor every year. The government would also give ₹ 5 lakh each to those who wish to construct their house on their own plots.

All pending bills of Indiramma housing scheme would be cleared within 100 days and the previous beneficiaries would be given ₹ 2 lakh to construct an additional room and bathroom while poor SC and ST families would be given an additional ₹ 1 lakh for construction of houses.
