5 cos booked for illegally making, selling insecticide

Nagpur: Wadi police have booked five fertilizer companies for making banned fertilizers illegally between June 3 and September 7 this year. The companies have been booked for fraud under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Insecticides Act 1968 and 1971. The case has been registered following a complaint from Dr Yograj Jumde, technical officer, quality control wing of the agriculture department.
The accused companies were identified as Govind Enterprises, Nagpur; MS Willo Wood Chemical, and MS Shree Jee Pesticide, Gujarat; MS Matrix Chemarch, and Mahesh Enterprises, Akola. All the companies played different parts in manufacturing and packing of the fertilizers without government approvals or knowledge.

The accused were manufacturing the fake pesticides of Crystal Crops Protection Company, such as ‘missile’ and ‘ballistic’ brand of fertilizers. The accused were also selling the fertilizers to farmers and other people. When the racket came to light a case was registered by the agriculture department after investigations.
