Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has denied the recent rape allegations levelled against him and has termed the act as an 'abominable crime'.

Days after his denial via an Instagram live, the superstar footballer took to social media again and denied the allegations levelled by Las Vegas native and former model Kathryn Mayorga, who alleged that she was sexually assaulted in a hotel penthouse suite in 2009.

Ronaldo, who did not feature in Juventus' most recent outing against the Swiss outfit Young Boys due to a red card suspension, said, "Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in."

The former Real Madrid man also added that the he refuses to be part of the "media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense. My clear conscience will thereby allow me to await with tranquility the results of any and all investigations."

Earlier, when Ronaldo took to Instagram to talk about this matter he said, “No, no, no, no, no. What they said today? Fake, fake news. They want to promote (themselves by using) my name. It’s normal,” said Ronaldo on an Instagram live session.

“They want to be famous by saying my name, but it is part of the job. I am a happy man and all is good.”

However, before Ronaldo's denials via the various social media platforms, the former model from Las Vegas did file a lawsuit.

Leslie Stovall, Mayorga's lawyer, said in a statement on Monday that his client wanted to "obtain justice by holding Cristiano Ronaldo accountable for his conduct."

The lawsuit, which seeks more than $200,000 in damages, names as defendants Ronaldo and an unnamed team of fixers described as "personal reputation protection specialists" hired to make the situation go away.

The Las Vegas police, on October 2, also reopened the case of sexual assault.

"As of September 2018, the case has been reopened and our detectives are following up on information being provided by the victim. This is an ongoing investigation and no further details will be released at this time,” a police statement said.

Mayorga claimed in a report published by Der Spiegel last week that Ronaldo had assaulted her in his Palms Casino Resort suite.

After the assault, Ronaldo repeatedly apologized to Mayorga, she claimed, but he had a team of fixers that the lawsuit calls "personal reputation protection specialists."

The lawsuit further alleges that this team kept regular tabs on Mayorga, her friends and family as well as law enforcement to "develop and implement a strategy" to prevent or delay the leaking of any allegations that could possibly lead to the prosecution of Ronaldo.

The team also got in touch with Mayorga's lawyer at the time, who agreed to speak with them and eventually persuaded her to drop the case, even choosing not follow up the case with Las Vegas Police, according to the lawsuit.

Furthermore, the lawsuit states that in mediation discussions, Ronaldo's team tried to convince her that they were attempting to compensate her for her injuries and that agreeing to the settlement terms precluded her from cooperating with police.

In reality his team was allegedly attempting to come in the way of a criminal investigation and damage Mayorga's credibility, thus lowering her chances of pursuing a claim for civil damages.

Ronaldo's lawyer Christian Schertz has also dismissed all charges, stating that "the reporting in Spiegel is blatantly illegal" in a statement.

He further stated that he was asked to seek compensation for "moral damages" over "probably one of the most serious violations of personal rights in recent years".
