SURAT: The rape of one of the two five-year-old girls in Dindoli area last week has turned out to be a brutal sexual assault allegedly perpetrated by her own teenage brother.
On Wednesday, police arrested the 15-year-old boy who was questioned in detail after his clothes stained with blood and sperms were recovered from their shanty near Modi Estate in the area. Police officials said the boy confessed that her raped his sister on September 30.
Moreover, despite knowing about his beastly act, the girl’s parents misled the police and claimed that she was raped by some outsider. Police also recovered a piece of cloth from the bushes, which is suspected to have been used by the boy to wipe the blood on his body and wounds of his sister.
The little one has suffered serious injuries in the private parts and she is currently under treatment at the New Civil Hospital (NCH). Sources in police said had the nature injuries not come to light, family would have not even reported about it.
Police investigation so far revealed that the boy came home at around 11 pm on Saturday when the parents and daughter were sleeping. He was eating food when the girl woke up to answer nature’s call. The boy took her outside since there is no toilet in the shanty and then he took her into the bushes crossing the road.
After allegedly raping his sister, he left her there and went off to sleep at home. After a while, the girl returned home crying. She narrated everything to her mother, who also thrashed her son for committing the heinous act.
However, the family decided not to seek medical help at night and avoided reporting anything to police. “However, as the girl was writhing in pain, they had to bring her to the hospital on Monday morning. Here too they did not reveal the cause of injuries. It was the doctor on duty who first alerted that it was a rape,” said a police officer.
“I had visited the spot to review the progress of investigation and concluded that there was no possibility of any outsider’s involvement. So I instructed police to focus on family members,” said Satish Sharma, city police commissioner.
After producing the teenager in court, he will be sent to a juvenile home since he is a minor. He had quit studies after class II and used to only loiter around with friends. His parents are labourers.
