Police foil 3 smuggling bids in J-K, 140 bovines rescued

Police have foiled three bids to smuggle bovines and rescued 140 animals in district of and Kashmir, an said Wednesday.

Police teams intercepted a total of six trucks at Nashri, Chanderkote and on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Tuesday evening, he said.

Three bovines smugglers were arrested and the trucks were seized, the said, adding that separate cases were registered against the three accused persons.

Those arrested have been identified as Anwar Ali, of and of Anantnag in south Kashmir, he added.
