According to Mumbai Mirror, the girl has been identified as Pooja Bhosale (17) who is a resident of Diva. The incident took place on Kalyan-bound slow train, and between Ghatkopar and Vikhroli. In the video, it is seen that the girl was leaning out of the train. Suddenly, she loses her balance. She was about to fall off the train when a fellow passenger managed to pull her inside. After the video went viral on the social media the Central Railway initiated a probe on the incident during which the girl was identified.

Pooja Bhosale told the leading daily, “I had just put out my hand. I am unable to remember what happened after that. But I am lucky that people travelling in the same compartment reacted in time and not only saved me but also my phone. I was talking with a friend on the phone and standing in the safe zone. Suddenly, when another train was passing, I just put my hand out and lost balance.” She also added she was unhappy about the video being circulated.

According to Pooja Bhosale, the incident happened around 3 pm. An RPF officer from the Central Railway told the leading daily, “She reached Diva at 3.30 pm; her left hand was bleeding, and she contacted the station manager and told him she had fallen from the train. The station master not only administered first aid but also sent her to Jeevdani Hospital with the help of the GRP, from where she was later discharged.” The security of Mumbai locals has been questioned often. Even some campaigns were launched to alert commuters while traveling on the train to avoid mishaps.
