Indore: Taking cognisance over the news of Free Press over the alleged medical negligence of Dr Arif Ansari while treating a 21-year-old girl, additional chief secretary (medical education) Radheshyam Julania has sought information about the case and action taken report from dean of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College.

Meanwhile, dean of MGM Medical College Dr Jyoti Bindal issued show cause notices Dr Arif Ansari, and Medicare Hospital and asked them to responded as to why Dr Ansari had gone to a private hospital for surgery of a patient in MY Hospital’s OPD during college time? and how Medicare avails services of hospital’s surgeon without dean’s permission?


“Dr Ansari has violated the norms of practice by doing private practice in college hours while performing surgery in private hospital without Dean’s permission while Medicare Hospital has violated the license norms for taking his services without Dean’s permission,” Julania said.

He added executive committee of MGM Medical College will take action in the matter. Dr Ansari allegedly treated a 21-year-old Divya Agrawal of Dewas for stone in gall-bladder, but put wrong clips in her liver post surgery due to which her conditions deteriorated. A complaint was lodged by the family members with divisional commissioner, ACS, DIG and CMHO.
