PARIS—French President Emmanuel Macron was dealt a fresh blow after another pivotal minister in his political coalition announced his intention to leave the government.
Interior Minister Gerard Collomb told Le Figaro newspaper on Tuesday that he wanted to leave his post immediately and has informed Mr. Macron of his plans. The declaration raised pressure on Mr. Macron to replace the prominent minister, who had previously said he planned to resign next year in order to run for mayor of his hometown of Lyon in 2020.
