Rajkot: A Rajkot-based architect has lodged the complaint of cheating on Monday against a person in Mumbai for not delivering a dog which his daughter had purchased online despite making payment of Rs 60,000 through NEFT in July.
According to Vipul Sanghvi’s FIR logged with Pradhyuman Nagar police station, his daughter Shreya had come in contact with one Sheldon Vaz, a resident of Meadow Green Bungalows in Dombivli in Mumbai through internet.
Shreya, who was searching for a pet dog, was promised a Maltese dog by Vaz and for that he had quoted the price of Rs 60,000.
Sanghvi transferred the amount to the bank account of the accused in July. Vaz promised to deliver the dog within a week after the amount was deposited in his bank account. He also produced before police email communication that confirmed that the money was deposited in Vaz’s account. In his email, Vaz had promised that in case of non-delivery or cancellation of order the entire amount will be refunded.
However, Sanghvi did not receive the dog’s delivery even after 10 days. Also, Vaz stopped responding to his phone calls. But he kept giving some excuses on WhatApp.
When Vipul and his daughter realized that Vaz will not be able to deliver the dog, they demanded a refund of the amount paid. But Vaz refused to refund the money.
