Mumbai police celebrates Gandhi Jayanti by sharing Bapu’s old letter to then city commissioner; read here


Mumbai police paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by sharing a letter he wrote to then Commissioner of Police, Francis C Griffith. “Letter of Mahatma Gandhi to Francis C. Griffith, Commissioner of Police (1919-1921) for arranging a meeting with him,” read the tweet.

Celebrating Bapu’s birth anniversary Mumbai police also tweeted Gandhi’s iconic 3 monkey quote which is Bura mat dekho, bura mat suno, bura mat bolo with some twist.

They shared their own version of Gandhi’s quote which read, “Bura mat type karo, bura mat like karo, bura mat share karo (Don’t type bad, don’t like bad, don’t share bad).

The letter generated curiosity among many on social media. While the words on the letter are hard to read, it didn’t stop people from trying.
