The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday blamed corruption in the Delhi Police and patronage from the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Centre for an alleged “sudden spurt” in crime cases in the Capital.
Citing recent incidents including the killing of two men since Sunday, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj took on the Delhi Police saying it “does not even reply” to the questions asked in the Assembly.
“@LtGovDelhi is patronising DelhiPolice & its corruption. Police was at least answerable to Delhi people till 2015, but LG made it un-accountable to people. Delhi Police does NOT even reply to the crime questions asked by MLAs in Delhi Vidhansabha [sic]”, he tweeted.
