Two missing girls from Wardha found in Mumbai


Mumbai: Two minor girls who had gone missing from their residence at Sawangi, Wardha have been reunited with their parents here on Monday. They had left from Wardha on September 29, upset for being scolded by their parents for not performing well in the exams.

The minor girls had travelled to Mumbai by train and alighted at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Kurla. A team was dispatched to LTT and Juhu Chowpatty on Sunday to trace them. However, the two minor girls were nowhere to be found.

A team from Sawangi comprising of five policemen include a woman sub-inspector police station came to Mumbai since Sunday, for search operation to trace the two girls. On September 29, the parents of the girls filed a case of kidnapping. Later, the Mumbai police received information on the two siblings.


According to Sanjay Nikumbhe, police inspector, crime branch unit-3 were roped in to help after receiving a tip the siblings were spotted at Mahul. “We had received a tip-off, the two girls were spotted in the city. Based on this information, the girls were traced to Mahul village at Chembur.” The police counselled them for an hour and sent them home. “We are very happy to reunite the girls with their parents on Monday,” said Nikhumbe.
