ALWAR: Two days after denying that key witnesses in the
Pehlu Khan lynching case were shot at while they were travelling to the court, the
Alwar police on Tuesday said that they will soon file a final report (FR) in the case.
The FR is being submitted as the police found that the allegations of shooting on Saturday are false. Police said, there are no indicative evidences. After the submission of FR, they will also lodge a case against the witness Irshad for lodging a false case.
On Saturday Pehlu’s family had alleged that they were shot at while they were on their way to
Behror to register their statements at the court. Police while investigating the case clearly denied these allegations on Sunday after scanning CCTV from a hotel near the spot.
“The footages clearly show the vehicle in which the witnesses were travelling passing the road at 9.04 am on Saturday and there was no SUV as claimed by them. Since the allegation is untrue we will file an FR in the case and will take an action against these people for filing a wrong FIR in this case,” said
Rajendra Singh, Alwar SP.
The family on Saturday had given a complaint to Alwar SP in which they alleged that unidentified attackers wanted to dissuade them from appearing in the court. Alwar police filed an FIR and launched an investigation into the incident.
Pehlu Khan’s son Irshad Khan, who was present in the car, had alleged that he was travelling with his brother
Arif Khan. They were accompanied by two other witnesses, Azmat and Rafiq, and their lawyer Asad Hayat. But in
Neemrana, around four men in a black SUV overtook them, hurled abuses at them before one of the persons shot at them.
