After years, tanks in Avinashi taluk are in spate

Tirupur: Following good rainfall, many irrigation tanks in Avinashi taluk are brimming with water. After years, Karukkampalayam and Pattampalayam tanks got filled on Monday
In Perumanallur area, a house at Adidravidar colony was washed away, but no one was injured. While the Pattampalayam tank is overflowing after a decade, the Karukkampalayam irrigation tank is filled after 12 years.

The district administration has issued a flooding alert to people living near the Nallaru river, a tributary of the Noyyal river. The river had witnessed many flash floods in the past.
