Asserting that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti is set to come back to power on the basis of its credibility, senior TRS leader and Finance Minister in the caretaker government, Eatala Rajender has criticised the opposition parties of trying to obstruct the welfare and development programmes on one pretext or the other.
Mr. Rajender was particularly critical about the ongoing campaign against the government in the social media, and said that it exposed the opposition’s desperation. The government had fulfilled the aspirations of the people in line with its promise to provide power and water to farmers while steps had been initiated to take up large-scale recruitment in the vacant government posts, he added.
This was in addition to the measures initiated to ensure job security to contract and outsourcing workers, anganwadi and Asha workers, home guards and other sections of employees. While the government had displayed its commitment to the all-round development of the State taking up schemes which were not mentioned in the election manifesto, the opposition parties, however, failed to give credit to the government’s achievements, he maintained.
“Why are the Congress and the BJP governments unable to implement 24-hour power supply free of cost to farmers in the States ruled by them?” he asked. He asserted that people would not believe the promises that were being made by the Opposition parties, the Congress in particular, and they were sure to back the TRS in the coming elections.
