Nagpur: BJP city vice-president Bhushan Dadwe has alleged CM Devendra Fadnavis is not showing any interest in upgrading tourism status of Tekdi Ganesh temple and Bada Tajbag. Dadwe said he would file a PIL if Fadnavis failed to fulfil the demand in a month.
Fadnavis did not reply to TOI request for comment.
Dadwe told TOI, Fadnavis got status of Deekshabhoomi upgraded from Grade C tourism to Grade A in May 2016 but not for Tekdi Ganesh and Bada Tajbag despite the demand for all three having submitted by him at the same time in April 30, 2013. “I demanded Grade A for Tajbag and Grade B for Tekdi Ganesh. Even CM had raised the issue in assembly on December 10, 2013, when he was an opposition MLA. State government sought some information that was given by the collector office, NMC and police department in August 2014,” he said.
Dadwe said government approved funds for re-development of Deekshabhoomi and Tajbag but was not ready to give anything for to Tekdi Ganesh. “I met Fadnavis and apprised him of the demand but Fadnavis did nothing,” he said.
Dadwe said information obtained under RTI Act revealed the proposal was pending with MTDC. “We expect speedy approval of proposals when our own MLA is at the helm in the state. The government is taking two-three years for upgrading two famous shrines where lakhs of devotees visit every year,” he said.
Dadwe also got Grade C status approved for Smruti Mandir, Reshimbag, last year. Power of giving Grade C tourism status is with district administration, Grade B with the state and Grade A with the Centre subject to the state proposing it.
