‘Gandhi Jayanti week’ inaugurated by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram
Source: TNNOn 2 October, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi by inaugurating the Gandhi Jayanti week in Thiruvananthapuram. The event was attended by CPI members and supporters at Thiruvananthapuram’s Gandhi Park. Volunteers also took part in singing the ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ devotional song that was widely popularised by Matama Gandhi. On 2 October, the nation marks this day to honour Mahatma Gandhi's contribution to India's freedom struggle.
