Homedale tops coonoor auctions

For the second consecutive week, the Coonoor-based Homedale Tea Factory has excelled in the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association with two of its CTC grades fetching the highest price. Homedale Estate’s Broken Orange Pekoe tea, topped the entire auctions with Ketti Valley Tea India buying it for ₹262 a kg. Another Dust grade of Homedale Estate fetched ₹239. Among orthodox teas, Chamraj topped at ₹245 a kg followed by Kairbetta at ₹236, Nonsuch Orthodox ₹219 and Havukal ₹202. In all, about 89 per cent of the offer was sold with the average price ruling ₹95.67 a kg.
