'No rocket science, Mourinho has lost the dressing room' - Carragher

Cape Town - Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has a divided dressing room at the club.

During Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, the football analyst dissects the current problems United have been facing under the Portuguese mentor.

The Red Devils suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat at West Ham United on Saturday and have only won four of their nine games this season in all competitions.

“What I saw at the weekend, every team will have a game like that, may two (games) where your character and commitment get questioned but it might only happen once or twice a season,” said the 40-year-old.

“We’ve seen this now three or four times in ten games (for Manchester United) under Jose Mourinho (and) that’s the worrying thing.

“And I have no doubt from his comments today at the press conference (ahead of United’s Champions League clash against Valencia) when he said, ‘some players are trying, some trying harder than others’ that he has lost the dressing room, that’s not rocket science.

Carragher added: “The problem with that is this is the third time it has happened, it started at Real Madrid with (Iker) Casillas and (Sergio) Ramos, it happened at Chelsea (Eden) Hazard and other players there, now there is talk of a group that is led by (Paul) Pogba at this club. So, there is no doubt that there is massive problems there.”

United welcome the Valencia to Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.

Kick-off is at 21:00 (SA time).
