Domestic quarrel leads man, woman to end lives

SURAT: Domestic quarrel led two persons to commit suicide in the city in the past 24 hours.

Mayuri Shailesh Mavani, 29, a resident of Sarthana, consumed insecticide and died on Sunday evening. She accused her husband Shailesh of torture. Mayuri was a Maharashtrian married to a Gujarati from Saurashtra. This was second marriage for both of them. They got married two years ago. Mayuri had a nine-year-old daughter from her first marriage and Shailesh a son, police said. Police have booked Shailesh for abetment to suicide. He did small-time jobs for livelihood.

Nitin Pimple, 28, a resident of Limbayat, committed suicide by hanging himself in his house after a fight with wife on Monday. He worked in the textile market. Police have begun investigations in the case. tnn
